Madlibs
Mad Libs take a paragraph and remove certain words from it, replacing them with blank spaces. Then a group of people, who haven't seen this paragraph is then asked to shout out appropriate words (noun, verb, adverb) to fill in the blanks. The results are hilarious.
Mad Libs are a great opening exercise for any creativity group meeting. In fact, they make a great icebreaker for all kinds of meetings.
You can buy books of these games at any bookstore for a few dollars. Or, you can make your own, taking a paragraph from pretty much anywhere and adding blanks to it. For example:
A Fairy Tale
Once upon a (noun) there lived a (adjective) Queen and a (adjective) King and they lived in a beautiful and (adjective) (noun) .
Of course, as filled in by my friends, the paragraph reads:
Once upon a wealth there lived a freakish Queen and a prickly King and they lived in a beautiful and befuddled cup.
You see? Fun for the whole family!
